Farnborough 2016: Airbus provides UK F-35 crypto keys

Airbus Defence and Space (DS) has added three aircraft to its portfolio of cryptographic key management systems, the UK F-35B, Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) Voyager and the C-130J Super Hercules

This is the first time the company has provided the crypto key management system to fixed-wing non-Airbus platforms; the three contracts have been valued at £2.2million. 

The contracts were won without a lot of competition as there would be ‘little point for MoD in going elsewhere,’ according to Peter Grogan, head of business development at Airbus DS.
