The updated AN/APR-39D(V)2 radar warning receiver/electronic warfare management system from Northrop Grumman is starting production.
The system would begin full rate production in July and would be provided for all US military helicopters across the services, a spokesperson from the company told Shephard . It is a merger of the C(V)2 baseline system and Northrop Grumman’s digital receiver.
The digital upgrade is designed to replace the analogue version across the rotary fleets and is also available for export. The spokesperson said the UK is considering buying more Apache helicopters and the modernised RWR could be fitted to those.
