EW Europe: Leonardo launches low-cost RF protection (video)
Leonardo has unveiled a new integrated electronic warfare survivability product, which combines sensing and countermeasure solutions.
Known as BriteEye, the new product is being exhibited at this year's EW Europe in London presented as a ‘highly-affordable’ aircraft defensive aid suite that can detect radar-guided threats and then dispense the appropriate countermeasure to ensure crew safety.
‘It’s a novel combination of proven capabilities that we have already fielded,’ said Dave Appleby, VP sales, electronic warfare, Leonardo Airborne and Space Systems. The plan is to provide this for more non-combat aircraft that don't need a high-end system.
