EW Europe 2018: The secretive world of ground-based SIGINT

Several companies at this year’s EW Europe in Switzerland used the show to highlight solutions for static and vehicle-based communications and electronic intelligence (COMINT/ELINT) collection, specifically for land forces.

The world of ground-based COMINT and ELINT collection is highly-secretive, with many armies often not disclosing what kind of equipment they have in this realm. These assets are used to monitor and intercept enemy communications and in some instances jam networks to cripple command and control. 

Despite its classified nature, industry officials gave Shephard a glimpse into this secretive world at EW Europe from a technology point of view.
