Eurosatory: New VSHORAD C2 system unveiled

MBDA has launched Licorne, a very short-range air defence (VSHORAD) command and control system for fast reaction, airborne or amphibious forces. 

Licorne uses the same software components, HMI and architecture as the in-service I-MCP and PCP systems family. It is able to coordinate VSHORAD systems such as those within the Mistral family. 

Licorne was developed to provide a low-cost solution that is highly mobile and lightweight. 

Francis Bordachar, military advisor, technical and military operations directorate, told Shephard: ‘Its modular and scalable structure makes [Licorne] highly customisable to specific requirements and allows easy and rapid deployment and dismantling.’
