Eurosatory: BAE Systems invests in non-wire soldier system

BAE Systems will launch a ‘non-wired integrated soldier system’ at Eurosatory while expecting demand for such solutions to increase over the next decade.

According to Paul Wright, the ‎land domain business development manager at BAE Systems, the Generic Soldier Architecture (GSA) design will provide a common spine, modularity and scalability for armed forces personnel conducting a wide range of different missions.

BAE Systems’ solution replaces wires – traditionally relied upon to connect devices to batteries – with a connectivity mesh woven into a standard armour plate carrier. It relies upon USB2 connectivity from which devices such as optics and radios
