Eurosatory: BAE Systems invests in non-wire soldier system
BAE Systems will launch a ‘non-wired integrated soldier system’ at Eurosatory while expecting demand for such solutions to increase over the next decade.
According to Paul Wright, the land domain business development manager at BAE Systems, the Generic Soldier Architecture (GSA) design will provide a common spine, modularity and scalability for armed forces personnel conducting a wide range of different missions.
BAE Systems’ solution replaces wires – traditionally relied upon to connect devices to batteries – with a connectivity mesh woven into a standard armour plate carrier. It relies upon USB2 connectivity from which devices such as optics and radios
