Elbit’s in-fill radar and tower system certified
Elbit Systems of America’s in-fill radar system and tower has been certified by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency for operational use, it was announced on 1 February.
The system will provide support to CBP air and marine border surveillance operations.
CBP awarded a contract to Elbit Systems America in 2017 to provide an in-fill radar system and tower in Texas. The company partnered with C Speed to incorporate its LightWave radar technology, designed for detecting small and low-flying airborne threats in a high clutter environment.
Raanan Horowitz, president and chief executive officer, Elbit Systems of America, said: ‘Elbit Systems of America is a trusted provider and integrator of advanced technology border solutions for air and marine operations, field operations and border patrol agents.
‘Elbit America's integrated border security solutions provide increased situational awareness and improved border surveillance coverage.’
