Israel sets up new department to boost development of AI and autonomy
Israel will continue to develop autonomy for its weapons and platforms as it brings together defence personnel, academia and industry.
Elbit Systems Ltd. announced today that it was awarded contracts by several customers in Asia to supply many dozens of observation systems for maritime patrol aircraft, vessels and observation towers. The total value of these new contracts is approximately $20 million, to be supplied over three years.
Under the above mentioned contracts, Elbit Systems Electro-optics Elop Ltd. ("Elop") will deliver various payloads from the CoMPASS family, including also the Micro CoMPASS, an extremely lightweight electro-optical system already in use by world leading armies, as well as the DCoMPASS, a highly advanced system that provides users with exceptionally high resolution digital imagery for both day and night. DCoMPASS is installed onboard patrol aircraft, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), coastguard vessels and frigates that demand long-range observation, aiming and target designation and tracking. These contracts follow Elbit Systems' award, approximately three months ago, of another $20 million contract, to supply an Asian country with dozens of CoMPASS payloads for maritime patrol aircraft.

Clavister CyberArmour, an integrated defence cybersecurity system, will be used on BAE Systems Hägglunds’ CV90 platform in deployments with a Scandinavian country, as well as in an eastern European nation.
The tactical satellite (TacSat) is an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) system and will participate in exercises in 2025.
The airborne three-domain, the two ground-based and the ¼ ATR OpenVPX-based cross-domain systems were engineered to provide real-time security across multi-domain operations.
DARPA’s Mission-Integrated Network Control (MINC) programme was set up to develop an autonomous tactical network and enable critical data flow in contested environments.
