DSEI 2015: Russia threat spurs NATO air defence growth
The increased threat posed by a resurgent Russia over the last two years has ‘heightened’ interest among eastern European states in NATO’s new air defence system currently being rolled out.
The integrated air C2 system – known as the Air Command and Control Systems (ACCS) – is now becoming operational in Italy, Germany, Belgium and France and replaces legacy C2 systems used for air defence.
ThalesRaytheonSystems (TRS), a consortium of Thales and Raytheon, has been responsible for the development and roll-out of ACCS since 1999.
During a briefing to reporters, TRS’s NATO business line vice president, Stephen Dumont said
