DSEI 2015: UKTI showcases industry (video)

The steady march of touchscreen technology has seen the humble air-defence console brought fully into the 21st-century by Kongsberg in a far-reaching upgrade of the NASAMS Fire Distribution Centre (FDC).
The third-generation console has been given a fundamental redesign, while company officials said the move was driven in part by the aim to make itself more technologically-relevant for new recruits among their customer’s armed forces.
Among the benefits are improved situational awareness, open architecture allowing for multi-role mission planning and an enhanced human-machine interface, according to company information.
Each operator has a single large vertical touchscreen allowing for joint-status imaging
