CAE maintains involvement with evolving SSE Technology Demonstrator
Improbable on 23 November issued a subcontract for CAE to support the second year of development of a Single Synthetic Environment (SSE) Technology Demonstrator for UK Strategic Command.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
SSE aims to deliver a multi-domain virtual world to be used for operational planning and decision support.
In a previous 12-month contract, CAE worked with Improbable to create a prototype SSE (pictured), which models the maritime, land and air domains as well as aspects of space, cyber and the information environment.
The second year will see the development and expansion of the prototype SSE into a cloud-based tool which (it is hoped) will enhance planning and decision-making for UK Strategic Command.
‘Together with Improbable, we are demonstrating that a combination of digital immersion technologies now exist that can replicate the scale and complexity of the real world in a synthetic environment,’ said Andrew Naismith, managing director of CAE UK.
Adarga is also supporting the next development phase of the SSE Technology Demonstrator by providing its Event Detection AI knowledge platform.
