Australia looks to Growler support
Australia has revealed that it is seeking approval to build electronic warfare ranges in the country to support Boeing EA-18G Growler Airborne Electronic Attack aircraft as part of its Growler transition programme.
In a seminar conducted at Australia’s Air Power Development Centre in Canberra on 23 September, the director of the Royal Australian Air Force’s Growler Transition Office, Gp Capt Glen Braz, said that Parliamentary approval is being sought to build two mobile threat training emitter systems.
Australia ordered 12 Growlers in May 2013 following an air combat capability review. It currently operates 24 Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet multirole fighters
