AUSA 2011: First contract for FELCO

ITT and Mercury Computer Systems (MCS) have received a contract from the US Army to supply the FELCO (Federated Embedded Intel-Server for Collaborative Operations) ISR embedded processing system used to 'simplify data feeds' on board UAS.

Speaking to Shephard at the AUSA conference in Washington, DC on 10 October, Matthew Pellechia, programme manager for GIS Airborne Solutions at ITT, said the companies will deliver the system to the army 'within weeks', and described the service’s attraction to receiving the product in a rapid fashion.

Based on COTS technology, the companies pride themselves on a 'quick reaction' from order to delivery,
