A310 MRTT tests 'first step' toward combat cloud development

A communications node test programme involving an Airbus A310 multirole tanker transport [MRTT] aircraft is representative of the company's 'first step' to developing a secure end-to-end connected air combat cloud. 

Discussing the programme at GlobalSatMilCom, David Kingdon-Jones, head of air connectivity at Airbus, explained that the A310 aircraft is due to commence its first test flight in January 2019, with performance requirements having been set by a military-centric 'MRTT user group.'
