US Army awaiting additional lessons learned from 1st SFAB deployment

It's still early days for the initial deployment of the US Army's 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB), but early reports are positive and forthcoming lessons learned will help standup the remaining five brigades.

During a 17 May media roundtable, army secretary Mark Esper said the 1st SFAB — a brigade out of Fort Benning, Georgia that deployed in February to Afghanistan — is doing well. 

'By the time they got organised and equipment like that, it took some time,' Esper told reporters. 'My understanding is that they are doing well. They're seeing good results...they're working everywhere from…the battalion
