UDT 2016: DCNS eyes Ula replacement

French defence company DCNS has their eyes on the proposed plan by the Norwegian MoD to replace their Ula-class diesel electric boats with new boats.

In a press release issued in April this year, the Norwegian MoD had ‘concluded that the French company DCNS and the German company ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems are the strongest candidates if Norway decides to procure new submarines.'

It continued to say that the MoD 'has decided to focus our future efforts towards these two companies and their respective national authorities.’
