Sweden seeks defence growth if budget demands met

With increased military activity in the Baltic Sea and Russia’s aggression in the air and on the ground, it is hardly surprising Sweden is looking to grow its defence forces.

These threats shaped the Swedish Defence Commission’s white paper which was released on 14 May and titled Defensive Power – Sweden's Security Policy and the Development of its Military Defence 2021-2025. Unsurprisingly it requests more expenditure in military capabilities to meet these challenges which are in close proximity to the Scandinavian nation.
