Saudi, Finland sign defence MoU
The Finnish Ministry of Defence and the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defence signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for bilateral cooperation in defence materiel on 11 June.
Negotiations regarding the MoU on defence materiel between the two countries have been underway since 2006. The agreement aims to make it easier for the Finnish defence industry to be active in the Saudi Arabian market.
The MoU also aims to ensure that issues Finland considers important in export control will be taken into account by the Saudi ministry.
The current MoU strictly pertains to cooperation between the two countries on defence materiel and defines the principles and administration over the cooperation.
