Saab forced to ditch Swiss flight tests
Saab has announced that the company’s in-development Gripen E will not take part in forthcoming flight tests in Switzerland, but will continue its participation in the Swiss Air 2030 fighter programme.
The decision was taken after Switzerland’s defence procurement agency Armasuisse recommended that the OEM do so on the basis that ‘flight tests have been designed to only evaluate aircraft that are operationally ready in 2019,’ Saab confirmed in a 13 June statement.
