Kaman receives JPF order
Kaman's Aerospace segment has been awarded a commercial sale purchase order worth $23 million for Joint Programmable Fuzes (JPF), the company announced on 16 July.
Kaman has provided the JPF for the US Air Force since 2002. It also provides the JPF to 26 other countries. The JPF allows users to programme the settings of a weapon on wing in flight.
The JPF is used with a number of weapons, including guided and general purpose bombs and on US aircraft like the MQ-9 UAV, bombers and fighter aircraft.
Greg Steiner, president, Kaman Aerospace Group, said: 'The JPF remains in high demand with militaries around the world. This order, an add-on to an order earlier this year, is further evidence that the functionality and reliability of the JPF make it the leading bomb fuze for the US and allied militaries around the world. This order further solidifies our programme visibility and backlog through most of 2017.'
