IDEX 2015: Sudan hails joint solution to border control

Cross border joint operations can go some way to solving difficult security problems in border regions, the Sudanese MoD has revealed.

Speaking at the IDEX Conference in Abu Dhabi, a spokesperson for Maj Gen Engineer Hassan Mohammed Dein at the Sudan MoD said that joint operations with Chad over their shared 1,350km border have yielded positive results.

However, he also added that better equipment is needed to help them perform their duties well such as air reconnaissance aircraft and monitoring, communication and early warning systems.
