IAI develops COVID-19 medical condition modelling
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) reported on 8 June that it has developed a model which predicts the progression of the medical condition of COVID-19 patients, by combining AI with big data and machine learning technology.
The combined software alerts medical staff of a possible deterioration in the condition of their patients, which can enable them to change and adapt care plans whilst identifying the most high-risk individuals.
The model has been designed in the IAI Innovation Centre by researchers and engineers in the company’s Systems Missiles & Space (SMS) division.
Einat Klein, Chief Innovation Engineer at the Innovation Centre, said: ‘IAI joined the battle against COVID-19 with multiple technologies developed over the past few weeks. These technologies help the medical professionals, the patients and the hospitals. We plan to continue helping the healthcare system in line with the changing needs.’
The SMS division is responsible for working on the Arrow 2 and 3, Barak 8 and loitering missile systems, as well as observation and communication satellites and nano-satellites.
