After proposing $886.3 billion to cover defence activities worldwide in the next fiscal year, the Biden Administration recently requested a supplemental $40 billion.
In a letter submitted to members of the Senate and House of Representatives, Director of the US Office of Management and Budget, Shalanda Young claimed that the additional budget proposal addresses ‘critical needs for emergency funding as part of a potential short-term continuing resolution for the first quarter of FY 2024’.
The extra resources would be allocated to the acquisition of equipment and ammunition for the US armed forces, security support to partners and allies and deployment
