Generals hampering effective training

Militaries across the world continue to struggle to effectively train between nations and across services, despite the fact that increased interoperability would benefit armed forces-readiness. 

‘We are still struggling with the same challenges within interoperability as we were 15 years ago,’ Jonathan Reed said at the Joint Forces Simulation and Training conference in London. 

‘There are many issues that we are still facing in terms of joint operations, joint training and interoperability.’

NATO has recognised the need for coordinated training through the Connected Forces Initiative (CFI) which aims to facilitate greater joint forces training.
