Farnborough: Aero Vodochody unveils jet trainer

Aero Vodochody has announced the development of a jet trainer aircraft at Farnborough International Airshow.

The new aircraft builds on the successful L-39 family of aircraft, of which Aero has delivered more than 3,000 since the 1960s. Some 400 aircraft are still operational internationally today. The new aircraft is intended as a direct replacement for the original L-39.

‘We will offer existing users a solution for their ageing L-39 fleets, but we are also expecting a number of new clients,’ said Ladislav Simek, president of Aero Vodochody Aerospace.
