The UK’s defence minister has set out plans for the country's Ministry of Defence (MoD) to take a greater responsibility in promoting exports in a speech at this year’s DSEI exhibition in London.
Speaking at the Excel Centre on 16 September, Secretary of State Michael Fallon outlined the British government’s commitment to spending 2% of its budget on defence and procuring high-end kit for the armed forces.
A large focus of Fallon’s speech, however, was centred on the role British industry plays in the worldwide defence industry and increasing the chances of UK technology being exported.
