Cubic announces Asia-Pacific contracts
Cubic Defense Systems will provide combat training support to a number of unnamed customers in the Asia-Pacific region. The contracts have a combined value of $125 million and range from five to six years in duration.
Cubic Defense provides live and virtual training systems, and specialised military electronics and information assurance solutions, contributing to the combat readiness of its customers’ armed forces.
These contracts reflect Cubic’s growing international customer base, with more 50 percent of the company’s orders received from non-US customers in FY12.
Cubic said the contracts support the company’s existing regional work force and offer expansion opportunities in collective training, operations and maintenance, and certain programme management and range modernisation efforts.
Dave Schmitz, president, Cubic Defense Systems, said: ‘These large orders from Asia-Pacific reflect the confidence our long-standing customers place in Cubic’s professionalism, responsiveness, and high quality work force. Today more than 50 percent of our work force is located outside the US demonstrating our commitment to further expand the company’s already significant international business base.’
