Companies awarded multi-million contract for BLU-136/B casing
Faxon Machining and Major Tool & Machine have jointly been awarded a $600 million contract for BLU-136/B next-generation area attack warhead case production.
The contract covers the procurement of 15,000 BLU-136/B next generation area attack warhead cases, and work will be carried out in Cincinnati in Ohio and Indianapolis in Indiana, to be completed by 30 September 2026.
The award is the result of a competitive small business set-aside acquisition, and FY19 ammunition production funds of $109,500 were obligated at the time of award.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Direct Attack Division, based at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida is the contracting activity for the award.
