Zhuhai Air Show 2018: Z-10ME attack helicopter breaks cover

The Aviation Corporation of China (AVIC) displayed a Z-10ME attack helicopter at Zhuhai Air Show 2018, this being an export version of the Z-10 attack helicopter that has been widely adopted by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) since about 2012.

The Z-10 is produced by the Changhe Aircraft Industry Group (CAIG). A brochure advertising this new variant listed a length of 16.13m, height of 4.42m and a rotor diameter of 13.5m.

AVIC stated: ‘It is equipped with sand filters for the engines, infrared suppressors, crash-resistant seats for pilots and bullet-resistant armour for the cockpit.’ The 'M' in its nomenclature represents
