Zhuhai 2016: Armed Z-11WB makes debut

Even though it achieved its maiden flight back in September 2015, Changhe Aircraft Industries Corporation (CAIC) displayed its Z-11WB light helicopter to the public for the first time at the 11th Zhuhai Air Show in China.

The Aviation Corporation of China (AVIC) described the platform as a ‘multipurpose reconnaissance/attack helicopter’ that was designed to ‘fulfil the requirements of information-networked battles and air-ground integrated battles’.

The 1,274kg exhibit was armed with a plethora of weapon systems. The example shown at Zhuhai had a door-mounted 40mm LG3 automatic grenade launcher and 7.62mm CS-LM12 six-barrelled Gatling gun-type weapon.
