Whole lotta love for the Lakotas from US Army

The US Army’s acquisition of the Airbus UH-72A Lakota continues to go from strength to strength as yet another order for more of the aircraft was made public.

In a US DoD announcement on 30 August, the US Army has made clear it requires 11 EC145s to complement the incumbent fleet of Lakotas.

Whilst Airbus has until 7 September to respond, the OEM must be rubbing its hands with glee after the controversy over sole source requirements that have dogged the acquisition process in recent years.
