The Pakistan government and USMC are set to procure an arsenal of 41 A/A49E-7 (V4) gun turrets for their respective Bell AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter fleets.

Contractor General Dynamics was awarded the work by the US DoD on 7 December with costs of $9 million to be split between US Navy aircraft procurement funds (fiscal 2016 and 2017) and FMS funds.

The deal will see General Dynamics conduct the work from their Williston, Vermont and Saco, Maine operation bases. A timeline of August 2021 has been agreed for the work to be completed.

The US Army intends on replacing its AH-1W SuperCobra legacy
