USAF does a u-turn on Huey replacement

The US Air Force (USAF) has made a major u-turn with its plans to replace its UH-1N Iroquois after announcing it will be holding an industry day on 27 August to find a suitor for the replacement.

The opening up of the replacement programme to competition reverses what was set out in the 2016 budget request, which stated that the UH-1N fleet would be replaced by second-hand US Army Black Hawks.
