The US Army’s aviation directorate says that it has now carried out initial software integration for the video from unmanned aircraft systems for interoperability teaming (VUIT-2) system aboard a Bell OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter as part of plans for a fleet role out aboard that aircraft type.

The initial integration underwent demonstration in late July according to Col Gregory Gonzalez, program manager unmanned air systems in the US Army’s aviation program executive office. “We just had a software demonstration of the integration of VUIT 2 into the Kiowa Warrior.”

Wider fleet roll out decisions remain dependent upon funding approvals however.
