US Army backs technology 'candidate concepts' on helicopter trio

The US Army has made clear its intention to further develop newer technologies across Boeing's major helicopter platforms, the AH-64 Apache, CH-47 Chinook and the A/MH-6M Little Bird

In a contract award made by the US Department of Defense (DoD), on 18 September and valued at $92.5 million, the Pentagon revealed that Boeing is set to offer 'engineering, analysis, test and technical support services' with the purpose of building on 'candidate concepts/designs and to achieve army and the [DoD] technology mission objectives for technologies and services' of the three aircraft types.

Bids have already been solicited, the DoD point out,
