US Army awaits more Black Hawks and Pave Hawks
The US Army will receive nine additional UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters plus 15 more HH-60M Black Hawk medevac variants from Lockheed Martin subsidiary Sikorsky, under a $30.96 million contract modification announced on 22 March.
Sikorsky will complete the work for US Army Contracting Command by 30 June 2023.
The original $3.8 billion contract, awarded in June 2017, called for Sikorsky to provide 182 UH-60Ms (142 for the US Army and 40 for the Saudi Arabian National Guard) and 75 HH-60Ms.
Shephard Defence Insight notes that this deal included an option for an additional 103 aircraft which could raise the overall contract value to $5.2 billion.
