Ukraine advances Mi-24PU2 upgrade

Ukraine's Mi-24PU2 helicopter upgrade has entered into flight testing phase, according to Ukoboronprom, the holding company that controls a vast majority of the country's arms development.

This long-delayed upgrade, undertaken at the Aviacon Kontop Aviation Repair Plant, is the second stage of the Mi-24P upgrade effort.

Ukoboronprom also revealed that during the first quarter of 2016 it overhauled a total of 14 Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters at the Aviacon Kontop Aviation Repair Plant and re-delivered the aircraft – seven for the Ukrainian MoD and seven more destined for foreign customers.
