Tiger proves credentials in Afghanistan

The Eurocopter Tiger attack helicopter has proven its operational worth in support of combat operations in Afghanistan, according to the commander of the French detachment’s reconnaissance and attack helicopter battalion.

Lieutenant Colonel Francois D’Argaignon said the Tiger had been in constant use in combat close attack (CCA) operations in Regional Command - East (RC-E) since its arrival in theatre in July.

“We are very happy with the Tiger. We have had only good surprises since its arrival. Now it’s combat proven and the operations in Afghanistan are very suitable combat missions for this system,” D’Argaignon told Rotorhub.com.
