Thales rockets in successful HForce testing
Thales rocket systems have undergone successful test firings using Airbus Helicopters’ HForce weapon management system, the former company announced on 5 March.
Two test campaigns have been carried out by an HForce-equipped H145M using Thales' 70mm/2.75in unguided and laser-guided rockets.
The unguided weapons (with FZ231 12-tube launcher) were tested in October 2017 by Airbus at the Bakony Combat Training Centre in Hungary. This was followed in December by test firings of laser-guided rounds (FZ275) at the Älvdalen test range of the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration's flight test centre.
Thales said that the successful firings confirm the reliability and maturity of the rocket systems. Final qualification of both is planned for the end of 2019.
