The second Airbus Helicopters’ Super Puma AS332 C1e helicopter ordered under a contract signed in 2013 has arrived in Bolivia, where it will now enter service with the Bolivian Air Force (FAB).

Six Super Puma AS332 C1e helicopters will be delivered in total, with the first delivered in August 2014 and the remaining four scheduled for delivery by 2016. The fleet will be used to perform a range of civil security and public service missions, including anti-drug trafficking.

Airbus Helicopters is also providing a technology transfer logistical support package that will furnish the FAB with the resources and skills it requires to achieve a high-level of fleet availability. Technical, flight instruction and maintenance support began with the first delivery, with more than 100 pilots and technicians of the FAB already having undertaken training.

The official handover ceremony held in Cochabamba was attended by Bolivian President Evo Morales, members of the FAB High Command, France Ambassador in Bolivia, Mr Michel Pinard, and Airbus Helicopters representatives.

The FAB already operates a number of Airbus Helicopters’ aircraft, including the Ecureuil AS350 B3 and the EC145.
