South Korea wants MH-60R Seahawks

The South Korean government could be the next export customer for the MH-60R Seahawk according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

On 16 May, the organisation notified the US Congress of a possible purchase of eight MH-60Rs through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) system.

The deal which also includes parts, equipment, training and logistical support is worth up to $1 billion.

The agency says the proposed sale will 'improve South Korea’s capability to meet current and future threats from enemy Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW) capabilities.'
