SOCOM seeks Little Bird cockpit upgrade

US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) has approached industry to help upgrade the cockpit of the A/MH-6 Mission Enhanced Little Bird (MELB) helicopter.   

On 8 October, SOCOM issued a request for information (RfI) to interested organisations able to supply the ‘personnel, facilities, equipment and materiel necessary to develop an integrated avionics system cockpit for the A/MH-6 platform’, with the potential for ‘follow-on’ support contracts running to 2030. 

The RfI for a ‘total avionics cockpit solution’ comes as part of the US government’s on-going commitment to modernise and enhance the light attack helicopter.
