So what's really going on with those German Tigers?

The German decision to suspend the purchase of the Tiger attack helicopter appears to be little more than a storm in a teacup.

The German Ministry of Defence says the aircraft do not meet the 'agreed technical specifcations' and 'show significant wiring problems'.

Yet Eurocopter says it applied a preventive fix to the problem in 2009 and a number of French Tigers which also suffered from the same issues are now operating in Afghanistan without fault.

The Germany Army has told Rotorhub.com that 'the current Tiger helicopters show significant wiring problems in chafing areas and wear and tear'.
