Singapore transfers Chinooks to Australia for training

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) has quietly transferred five Boeing CH-47D Chinooks to the Oakey Army Aviation Centre in Australia, and has also shut down its 22-year-old Peace Prairie detachment in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Singapore’s Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) confirmed in a statement, ‘The SAF conducts regular review of our training demands and resource requirements. To enhance integrated training with our army, the RSAF recently transferred our Chinooks to the Australian Army Aviation Training Centre at Oakey.’
