Singapore selects H225M and CH-47F

Singapore’s Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) selected the Airbus Helicopters H225M Caracal and Boeing CH-47F Chinook as part of Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) efforts to modernise its helicopter fleet.

The Airbus platform is believed to have edged out Leonardo’s AW101. The two companies were understood to be leading the competition for the RSAF’s medium-lift helicopter programme that was announced in 2015. 

The H225M will eventually replace two squadrons of the AS332/532 Super Puma and Cougar, where the former has been operational since 1983.
