Sikorsky reports sales and profit growth

Increased international and commercial sales have led to overall sales growth for Sikorsky after declining revenues for the division had a negative impact on parent company United Technologies’ results in previous quarters.

Although Sikorsky is affected by declining US military spending, it reported a 9% year-on-year growth in sales to $1.4 billion with 36 military and 12 commercial aircraft deliveries in the first quarter. 

During the quarter, Sikorsky further announced the entry into service of the S-76D helicopter and the signing of a long-delayed contract with Turkey for the supply of 109 T-70 helicopters.
