Sikorsky receives LRIP Lot II VH-92A contract
Sikorsky has received a Low Rate Initial Production Lot II contract from the US Navy to build six production VH-92A Presidential helicopters.
The build forms part of the 23 aircraft program of record for the US Marine Corps. The VH-92A aircraft will provide transportation for the US President and Vice President.
The deliveries will take place in 2022 and 2023.
Sikorsky has transferred five VH-92A helicopters into government test with the sixth completing modification and due to enter into government test this spring. The VH-92A programme is on track to enter Initial Operational Test and Evaluation later this year.
Dave Banquer, Sikorsky VH-92A program director, said: ‘Now that we are ramping up production, the VH-92A programme is gaining momentum. This second contract award demonstrates the confidence the US Marine Corps has in Sikorsky's proven ability to deliver and support the next generation Presidential helicopter.’
