Sikorsky Aerospace Services Delivers Helotrac RL Enhancements for US Army Light Utility Helicopter Program
Sikorsky Aerospace Services today announced it has delivered enhancements to the Helotrac RL maintenance management system for the US Army's UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) program.
The Helotrac RL maintenance management system enhancements include improvements to three primary features requested by the US Army: safety, an operating and support management information system, and fleet management capabilities. The software update was recently launched into production.
"The Helotrac RL maintenance management system offers a low cost, commercial off-the-shelf solution that helps reduce the maintenance costs of the fleet, and enables additional fleet management opportunities," said David Adler, President, Sikorsky Aerospace Services. "The system has been well received by the units and we will continue to improve it to ease the maintenance burden on the warfighter."
The safety enhancement will provide the customer with improved message reporting, including airworthiness directives, alert service bulletins, service bulletins, service letters and service instructions. It allows the customer to generate reports based on aircraft selections and date ranges.
"Sikorsky designed, tested, and installed the US Army-requested enhancements to the Helotrac RL software over the past year, meeting or exceeding the performance requirements of EADS North America and the US Army," said John Burke, EADS North America's Vice President and Program Manager of the LUH program.
The OSMIS will allow the customer to perform quarterly comprehensive cost analysis reporting. The system report provides detailed information on discrepancies, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, impact to non-mission capability, maintenance man hours, and repairable/consumable parts consumed for the LUH fleet.
The fleet management module will provide additional fleet management data to allow the customer to determine timely fleet and aircraft readiness.
