SGA2012: AAR seeks heavy-lift capability boost

AAR Corporation has revealed plans to increase its fleet of heavy-lift helicopters for search and rescue (SAR) and military operations as well as civil projects in Asia-Pacific.

Speaking to Shephard at the Singapore Airshow, Robert Laird, VP marketing for Asia-Pacific said the company was looking to bring in new equipment as it looked to cooperate with regional governments.

'We are looking to bring in a significant number of new assets,' Laird explained while outlining AAR's existing fleet of some two dozen platforms. 'We are looking at more than a dozen new helicopters and additional fixed-wings', he revealed.
