Saudi Arabia requests continuation of MSS contract
The US State Department has made a determination approving a potential foreign military sale to Saudi Arabia of continued maintenance support services (MSS), the Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced on 22 March.
In a package worth $106.8 million, Saudi Arabia has requested the continuation of the MSS contract that supports the Royal Saudi Land Forces Aviation Command’s (RSLFAC) fleet of AH-64D/E, UH-60L, Schweizer 333 and Bell 406CS helicopters.
Services include management and installation of engineering change proposals and modification work orders; repair and return management services and component repairs; aircraft simulator logistics, maintenance and technical support; training; maintenance management support for the RSLFAC headquarters staff; and logistics and programme support.
The continuation of MSS will support Saudi Arabia’s rotary wing aircraft fleet, engines, avionics, weapons and missile components.
If the sale goes ahead, DynCorps International will be the prime contractor.
